I have been working on a number a smaller paintings which are now finished some are already in the on line store and there are more to follow. The thing about these is most are only 16×12 inches which for me is tiny. Although the two I have included here are 24×20 inches. They usually start of as studies for the larger paintings, and because of there size are a lot easier to manage in the landscape, most of the time they start as simple drawings, and collage is often involved. I will mix sand, soil dried grass stalks and sometimes even litter is mixed into the paint. In the end these smaller works often take as long as some of the larger paintings that I do. Here’s a couple of examples. With grass, sand and soil mixed into the paint.
‘Wild Flowers By The Sea’ ‘By The Sea
These paintings are on show at Will’s art warehouse in London.
The other news is I am re organising some of the info on the web site. I have placed all contact details in the catagories section in the menu list on the right hand side of the screen under catagories and over the next few days I will be replacing the on line store page which is at the top right of the page with something a bit more interesting. You will still be able to access the on line store by scrolling down the menu list on the right of the screen.

This is my partner Julia. Isn’t she gorgeous. We met in Sept. 1984 on our B.A. Fine Art course at the then Polytechnic Wolverhampton. Anyway like me Julia is an artist and will soon have her own web site, but until her web site is up and running we decided to put something on mine. We had decided in anycase to link our web sites and have something about each other on our web sites. Hope that makes sense. There will also be a catagory in each of our online stores where you can have a look to see what artworks Julia has available.
Here are some of Julia’s recent flower paintings….
Julia has many influences on her work from Elizabeth Blackadder to Rothko. And so explores figurative and more abstract forms which you will be able to see on her own web site and if you are in London you could always visit the Geffrye museum to see one of her works.

Here are some new large landscape format paintings. One of the best things about the north Cornish coast is the combination of moor and sea particularly when all the wild flowers come out in the spring and a bit later the colour of the heather against a backdrop of bracken. It is incredibly untidy and so visually very interesting. For me it is so much more interesting to look at than the usual patchwork of farm fields, particularly places like Bryher where the moor comes right down to the sea and you get this wonderful broken landscape full of shattered granite next to the atlantic. And in this environment when you see the terrific storms it really is something special. Anyway here are some 38×90 inch paintings about this. Though they are not as stormy as some. Those ones are not quite ready.
These paintings are available in the on line store. Though they are still very wet and will need a couple of weeks drying time before they can leave the studio.

Since going out and looking at the tremendous storm we had in March this year I have been working on some very large paintings. I will be uploading them in the on line store over the next few weeks as they are finished. At the moment these are the first two of the large scale works to be finished and are very, very wet and need at least two weeks more drying time. So anyone out there interested should contact me so I can arrange a time for viewing and or delivering the work.
This first one is 48×54 inches and is called ’March Storm 2008′. Oil on canvas and comes from experiencing the Storm on the north coast of Cornwall between Gernards Head and Portheras Cove near Morvah.
A slightly smaller painting, ‘Near Pipers Hole Tresco’. Oil on canvas and is 42×48 inches. Over the next few weeks I will be uploading images of 38×90 inch paintings and one or two 76x 90 inch works also about the storm of March 2008.
