I have always liked maps and I remember being fascinated with a huge world atlas that my parents had when I was very young. It was something to do with all the place names and countries and I guess just learning about the world. And it went hand in hand with my love of cycling and it wasn’t lomg before the idea to plan a cycle tour to Australia occured. Well that dream is still to be realised…….and one day I will do it, but I have managed three trips to Australia, thanks again to my parents. My Dad had taken early retirement and at first they decided to move back to there home town Lancaster. Now my brother Michael had emigrated to Australia in the early 1980’s and My parents then decided to emigrate to Australia in 1987. This was just as I was doing my degree show at Wolverhampton and as a graduation gift they paid for my first visit.
